3TB Internal Drives Coming Soon From Western Digital And Seagate

Ah, the quest to offer bigger and better storage capacities seems to be never-ending for companies like Western Digital And Seagate. This time, they’re both gearing up to launch their upcoming 3TB internal hard drives for the consumer market. Interestingly enough, official announcements weren’t initially made and yet images of the new drives known as the Seagate Barracuda XT and Western Digital Caviar Green have turned up.

Furthermore, the Barracuda XT features a 7,200RPM speed, a 64MB memory buffer, a 6Gbps SATA interface and average access time of 8.5ms. Meanwhile, the Caviar Green is packing a less impressive speed of 5,400RPM, a 3Gbps SATA interface, a similar 64MB of buffer and average access time of 8.9ms. Now, is that enough storage space for all of your important content, dear readers? Seriously, how much more could you possibly need?
