24 Original Performances by Little Richard Come to Super Audio CD

Rocker Little Richard comes to Super Audio CD with a 24 song collection of his biggest hits of the late 1950’s from the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab label. The new set consists of selections from the first two of the rock star’s albums on the Specialty Records label – “Here’s Little Richard” (recorded in 1957) and “Little Richard” (recorded in 1958), all presented in Monophonic sound.

Despite the generous helping of classic songs from the singer, the new Super Audio CD disc remains at Mobile Fidelity’s single disc SACD list price of $29.98.

Comments from Mobile Fidelity
Mobile Fidelity says that they are “proud to reissue these seminal chart toppers by rock and roll’s most enduring legend and a true American musical pioneer. Featuring twenty-four of Little Richard’s most memorable hits, this is an essential collection of superior sounds and songs by a primary architect of rock and roll. Mastered from the original analog masters from various single and EP sessions, this inimitable legacy is now perfectly preserved, enhanced and protected for future generations by MFSL’s heralded GAIN 2™ mastering process. The SACD contains twenty-four songs including the original hit versions of: Tutti Frutti, Ready Teddy, Slippin’ And Slidin’, Long Tall Sally, Miss Ann, Rip It Up, Jenny Jenny, Keep A Knockin’, Good Golly Miss Molly, Hey-Hey-Hey-Hey, The Girl Can’t Help It, Lucille and many more!”

Lucille Is On The SACD
The new disc comes packaged in Mobile Fidelity’s usual Super Jewel Box for SACD releases. Also worth noting, the back of the SACD only lists 23 tracks – for some reason track #24 (Lucille) did not make it on to the back cover. But it is indeed included on the SACD!

The new album was mastered for Super Audio CD release by Mobile Fidelity Chief Engineer Shawn R. Britton. The Hybrid Mono SACD was made by Sony DADC at their Hybrid SACD replication line in Terre Haute, Indiana.

An Essential Release for Rock Fans
Listening to the Little Richard Super Audio CD is a treat. It captures the rocker and his band with all of their raw energy. Vocals are up front and clear with the power that each original performance brings. The expression “a collector’s edition” is often used. In this case, it’s definitely applicable.

Every rock fan will want this SACD in their collection. It is an essential release indeed.
